Kauai Beach Hideaway is located by Aliomanu Bay the first
bay on the north shore of Kauai. This area of the island is
Kauai's best kept secret the sunniest side on the north shore
of Kauai and a local friendly spot with very little development,
with miles of deserted beaches. It is home to most Hawaiians
on the island, and is permeated with aloha. The Kauai Ocean
Hideaway is located only 1 mile north from Anahola a sleepy
little place which comprises of a general store, a post office,
an outdoor sandwich/snack shack and a few roadside stands
.
Our Kauai vacation cottage is nestled directly under Anahola
mountain (Kalalea mountain) which is also know as "King
Kong" This striking prominent landmark can be seen upon
your arrival to Kauai as you leave the airport. We are at
the end of a very quiet little country road that leads to
the beach. The hideaway sits on one acre of tropical gardens
with abundant palms and and fruit trees and is fortunate to
border 12 acres of botanical gardens. The surrounding area
consists of large parcels of land that is primarily used for
agricultural tropical farming. There are a just a few residential
homes scattered in the neighborhood. This area is called Aliomanu
and we are 100 yards from Aliomanu Bay, a very secluded crescent
bay with one of the islands largest coral reefs, so it is
good for snorkeling and protected for swimming year round.
Secret beaches north and south are within easy walking distance.
Some are good for beachcombing, and others are favorite surf
spots.
Begin your day...
at magical...
Aliomanu bay.
Stroll south...
by Anahola bay...
then north to Papaa bay.
Our romantic getaway appears off the beaten path
and feels immersed in sweet seclusion yet the hideaway is
conveniently centrally located for island wide exploration,
just minutes to the end of the road on the north shore and
only a short drive to Waimea Canyon on the south side. Close
by are many hiking trails, the famous Napali Coast, waterfalls,
river/ocean kayaking, fishing, horse riding, golf, windsurfing,
snorkeling, and of course many more beaches to explore.
We are about a 25 minute drive north east of the Lihue airport
and situated halfway between the tropical town of Kapaa, (7
miles south) the happening place and considered the hub of
the island with its many colorful farmers markets, outdoor
cafes, fine dining, art galleries, local crafts, cute boutiques,
yoga and massage studios, and the old plantation town of Kilauea
(7 miles north) and with its lighthouse and bird and wild
life sanctuary.
If you are looking more toward "resort-style" or alternative lodging there are also Kauai time shares available now with lots of amenities. Beach front time shares are available and competitively priced in the more densely populated areas of Kauai. Of course the activities like swimming and hiking and beach exploration are still available.
